Overview

The day starts and concludes at the Centre.

About:

If you’re into adventure, and getting properly soaked—gorge walking is your kind of day out. You’ll explore a disused railway tunnel, dark, echoey and full of mystery before heading into a rocky river gorge. Make your way downstream by scrambling over boulders, wading through the streamway, and sliding down natural rock chutes. It’s like nature built its own obstacle course—it’s slippy, it’s wild, and it’s a memorable experience.

Equipment:

We provide all the specialist equipment you’ll need for the day—helmets, waterproofs, belts and wellies.

What to Wear:

  • Lightweight synthetic clothing is best e.g. sportswear.
  • Long trousers like leggings or joggers—no shorts, even in warm weather
  • Three top layers—think t-shirt, sports tops and/or fleece
  • Sun cream if hot

What to Bring:

  • A packed lunch, snacks and a drink
